p.1 #1 · Tamron 17-50 IS?

Do you think Tamron will every offer 17-50 with IS (or whatever they call it from Tamron) and USM?
I really want the Canon 17-55 IS, but it is way out of my league. Maybe one day Tamron will make me happy by offering 17-50 IS USM =)

I think you'll have a lot more grey hairs by the time that happens. I'd love for Tamron to firstly get a USM equivalent and then start adding VC to more lenses. Apparently their VC is quite effective and is a more advanced design than Canon's IS, using 3 axes rather than 2.

Wonder why they don't put VC on all there lenes if they have the technology for it.

Probably price point. Tamron's main competitive advantage is its price to performance ratio. I can't say for sure how expensive VC would be, but if it significantly raised the price of the lens, their offerings might not be as competitive.

You will have better luck switching to Sony for their sensor stabilization than getting VC from Tamron.

It was introduced in one of their biggest sellers: the 28-300 first. I expect it'll go in volume lenses first and then filter into the SP range eventually. But USM should be a higher priority. Maybe one day we'll see a 28-75 f/2.8 USM VC

I would pay darn good money for that lens. Love my 28-75, add VC and USM and it would be darn near perfect.
