p.1 #1 · When will the MkIIN come down?

When do you guys think the MkIIn will come down to about $1500-$1800

it is at 2600 for a used one these days ... i am guessing i will have to wait for a new 1D series to come out.

Any random and unbacked comments

I've seen the last two IIn's on SS go for 2000-2200. I think it's just a matter of what people will still pay. With the trickle of blue dot mkIII's starting to show up it's inevitable that the IIn's will drop.

Prices on camera models come down when a replacement is available. Had the 1DMIII not exhibited a number of high-profile problems, the 1DIIN price would be in the $1500-2000 range by now. Instead, it remains at $2000 plus. Unfortunately, that price is probably going to remain pretty steady, dropping only as shutter counts and overall condition changes. Even after the 1D-next is released, there will be a period of latency as the market closely inspects that camera to ensure it is a reliable replacement. If it is a solid camera, expect the price on the 1DIIN to drop slowly over the following 6-12 months and expect the price on the 1DMIII (unless a REAL fix is available) to drop like a rock.
