p.1 #1 · Air Freight / OspreyLand

Air Freight / OspreyLand

The female was real busy bringing material for her nest, the male spent the whole time watching her from a tree about 75 yards away, while enjoying the nice sunshine. These photos are from 3 different trips she made getting more construction material for her nest. After the 3rd trip she took off down to the river to fish. Gooood Old Pa just stayed in the tree watching and probably hoping she would share the fish when she gets back.

Nice series Roger.. Looks like she was working like a pack mule. I'm sure Pa was pointing out the sticks from up above.

Great stuff Roger, I always like to see the bigger birds carrying wood around. It just seems obtuse to me.

Roger
Great shots. Some of the material is heavy duty stuff.

The male was probably more involved than you think. "Now get a smaller one, dear". "Carefull with that one." "Don't forget the fish" etc.
Nice light on all of these. Well done.

Hi Chad, I was thinking about Pa on the way home and he is one smart guy. NOT a good idea to get in a lady's way when she is decorating a house.

These are great Roger,

I'd much rather watch this than the Crows that have moved into a tree in my neighbor's yard. Don't want all their squawking

Lovely shots.... Keep us updated on this pair....

When they get back up here for the summer they always go to work on the nest, I am guessing that is why over a number of years the nests get pretty large.

She will get even, when he has nest duty. Good to see the Ospreys back. Once again, you did good.

Harsha, thanks for the nice comment. It amazes me how they can balance some of the limbs they bring back to the nest.

In my mind Osprey are more fun than crows. Female Osprey are pretty vocal also.

Another thing they do that blows me away is they are very careful where they put the material once they get it to the nest.
