Well, I FINALLY got my computer back on track. Still got some minor re-installs to do but at least I'm gettin my daily fix! And can post again!!

I wanted to share a final few from the dwarf cypress forest that I enjoyed with Hugh in early February. Hope you enjoy, and C&C please.

Hello Barry,

Glad you are finally back on-line. A fine set of images showing the character of the place. The second one is as close to what I think of when I remember the place as I've seen so far. Thanks for sharing more from the trip.

Great place, Barry! I like the atmosphere, especialle in #1 and #4. You might have a try at B&W for those.

Great atmosphere in there, very spooky! I think B&W would enhance the spookyness.

Wow Barry, i really like #2. The cypress are so cool there with the lichen hanging off them. The dwarf forests down here don't have that.

I love #2, but they are all great. I was there a few years back and your pictures very much remind me of the fond memories I still have.

The second is a strong one, Barry...and so that's how Hugh has the patience for those long, blue exposures: a Hassie permanently strapped to his eye! Dave

Really love the atmosphere on these - especially #2. Great light you've managed to capture on that one, and the composition with the veranda off in the mist is really great. Nice work!

Looks like a very cool place Barry. I love how the boardwalk rises above the canopy... it must have been fun to watch the sunrise from there. Neat shots.

A great set, Barry. The light is wonderful, my kind of morning atmosphere. The second one takes the cake!

Hey, Carlo! It was a neat place Hugh had found. So glad you liked 'em!
I've given the B&W a try, but so far, I haven't liked the results; the small cypress and dripping moss seem to get lost in the mid-tones. But I haven't given up, yet

Thanks, Floris. I also felt kind of a spooky, primeval even, atmosphere that morning. Still working on a conversion. Not happy yet!

Hello Barry,

Boy, I've really enjoyed viewing your trip images. That 2nd shot has such wonderful fg colours. I love the artistic reach of the upper branches and moody feeling the mist offers. Nice work here!

These are beautiful, Barry. I really like the colours and the atmosphere in the first shot. I would like to see a little more of the boardwalk although I realize that Hugh was probably in your way. ;-)
The second one is very atmospheric too. Nice work.

The second picture is stunning. I would love to see a B/W of this picture. It could add even more drama to this great picture or take away. Its a worthwhile experiment. I enjoyed these. Gorgeous places.

Great shots, Barry! Especially like the coloration in the first.....which is even somewhat reminiscient of a Hugh composition (a good thing in case you weren't sure .

But whassup with Hugh in the 'winter' garb......in Florida?!?!? What was it....50 degrees out that morning.(??)

Hi Adam! Very grateful for your comments. The smoke from the control burns and the thin low fog really made the atmo that morning. Glad you liked!

The smoky atmo that morning made it a real treat to see, especially with Hugh! Thanks very much!
