Hello,

Does anyone use these? and if so what do you think of them?

I've never used any real quick cuts but am looking to do so with the possibility of having more weddings and therefore want to stream line my workflow. At the moment I do unfortunately adjust most images independently when it comes to curves etc. and I know this is not the most efficient way to work.

Any recommendations for batch processes and effects would be welcome.

I think you are already doing what needs to be done because every image is different. Obviously you can use Actions to batch certain images, but that is not to say they all will look good with the same affect.

You can create your own Actions based on the "effects" your own adjustments.

I use them. They're pretty good, but I have a ton that are better. The top notch actions are pretty consistent on every image. I have spent a few grand on all of this stuff because I take every single image from Lightroom to Photoshop. Some of these actions are so complex that it could take half a day just to create one. There are steps to assure no blown highlights and no burnt blacks, etc. I'm not just referring to Ascough's, but most of the very good ones. Some leave groups to make all kinds of adjustments..

Now, that being said, I use most of the ones I have as a starting point and then we do a lot of work from there, but I save so much time now and I never could have found the time to make anything like these on my own, maybe some simple three or four step stuff, but nothing like these.

As for batching, I never do it because NOTHING will give you exactly what you want all the time unless you just want clean exposures and simple stuff like that.

My methodoly pretty much reflects J.Consiglio's. Ascoughs are pretty good but there are others. I keep going back to Yervants B&W script again and again.

Good thing about Ascoughs is that they are cheap.

Agreed. I usually never batch more then about 5 images at a time. Moving in and out of different light situations really makes every image unique. Lightroom has made all our jobs much easier in way of breezing through tons of work. It has been priceless in my work.
