p.1 #1 · (photos added) Snowmobile race - Soo I-500 (enduro)

I've been meaning to post more this winter, but the time just slipped away...
Here are a few shots from the Soo I-500 last month in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. The track is a 1-mile paper clip; think a 1-mile version of Martinsville. It was a really tough race to shoot - media was restricted to a small section entering turn 1.

Tyler, I think they're very good shots, but they're basically all the same shot. The last two at least show a little variation, but I think you might want to think about varying the angles at which you take the shots. Some wide angle "environmental portraits" (for want of a better description) would be one way to add some variation.

As I said, lovely shots, but just too much the same in my opinion.

Agree with neil, the shots are nice, but tend to look all the same due to the same angle and even the fact that its all snow with no background blur to pop out and give you sense or perception of movement...

Nice work with these.

I slapped this post together pretty quickly and I guess I didn't even notice the monotony... I just grabbed the top few finishers, the pole sitter, and my favorite shot from the weekend (#5). Here's a few more to show some variety

#7 John Bosek talking to fans prior to the race.

#8 The view from turn two. Notice the WWII bunker in turn 1 that really limited sight lines. The shooting areas from the infield were limited to about 15-20 yards north of the bunker to ~80 yards south. It was all elevated so it was pretty boring shooting. A chain link fence prevented shooting from other spectator areas in turns 1 & 2. Turns 3 & 4 were unaccessable.

Thanks for the feed back
