p.1 #1 · for those who shaved the 5D mirror

Do you noticed the dust is also much less after that?

for the past 10 month, I have yet to feel the need to clean the mirror and focus screen.

Maybe the reduced mirror size also reduced the air flow from the mirror movement.

Anyone had similar experience with less dust issue?

Interesting thought. Would be great to hear if others have experiences the same.

According to a study made by Canon the amount of dust inside you camera is proportional to how often you put the camera/lens caps in your pockets.

i assume that this was a scientific study and canon controlled for the amount of dust in the experimenters' pockets??

Surely negated if you screw the body to the lens cap first as I always do.

Too bad they didn't spend the time and $$$ used on that BS study on trying to reduce the dust/metal shavings/plastic deitrius shipped inside new cameras. Must cost them an aggerate fortune in shipping over x years and x thousand camera bodies...

I haven't noticed any change, overall. Initially there was a bit more dust due to a slightly insufficient masking job during the shaving. After a few quick sessions with a blower bulb, things have returned to normal.

I do all the time but the dust issue seems to show up when the camera is in use before I shaved the mirror.
