This is my first post in the Nature forum after many months of actively watching and offering up C&C. I have been impressed! Very much so.
So I wouldl like to sincerely thank all the FM'ers that have let me C&C their work. All your efforts and posts have taught me quite a bit and kept me highly motivated.
I had the pleasure to spend a sunny Sunday at a local eagle nest that location was shared with me by FM'r e.s.sandusky, so special thanks to him.
These eagles were quite active, taking turns coming and going, all were shot with the Canon 400 5.6L, some cropping applied.
Congratulations on these eagle shots. I know exactly what a challenge it can be to get in close enough to a nesting pair, but you did a great job. And you did it without a caddy! You are off to a great start, so keep those uploads coming.
Excellent series Karl! I know shooting at a nest is not easy...the angles are usually poor and there are lots of branches and twigs to deal with. You did a wonderful job handling both of these issues. Number 5 is my favorite, look forward to more.

Thanks for the look Doug, you are correct about angles, and twigs etc, had a stiff neck at the end of day watching and waiting. However, certainly was worth it for me.............comments appreciated greatly

So nice to see your post of the baldies. Well done and the first 2 are my pics. Nice to see you post a few of your captures > Hope to see more REAL SOON
I live nerby a field where the farmer disposes of fresh carcasses daily. There may be up to 2 dozen eagles in the field at any given time. The problem is they are between 250-500ft away and are pretty shy. Even shooting with a 500mm can be tricky so I opted for a 1.7tc which should be arriving soon. Im gonna give that a try.
