p.1 #1 · What are they fighting over?

These gulls saw something in the water they all wanted and got into a bit of a bird brawl over it. This was a fun one to capture. This was shot with a 500mm f/4 IS with 1.4 TC attached.

Karl, this is a really neat shot. The backstory definitely helps explain the picture. Did any of these birds come up with the prize, or did it get away while the birds were all squabbling over it?

Whatever it was I think the white bird got it because he flew out of there like a rocket seconds later.
