p.1 #1 · A footless goose, a golden goose and a white-headed goose
Has anyone here ever seen a footless Canada goose? I have looked at this photo over and over but just can't see any feet. And another oddity to me is the goose with the white head and orange feet that looks like and flies with the other Canada geese. Probably just a cross. The golden goose was just an interesting shot late in the day. Talk about golden light. These are not the best technically as I am still learning and enjoying it very much. And thanks to you guys up north for sharing the Canada geese with us for a while.
p.1 #3 · A footless goose, a golden goose and a white-headed goose
I can see how you think it is footless but I assure you, it's feet are just tucked in. You can barely see it's toe tips tucked in near the tail area. It must have been a very cold day. Not always but usually, they conserve heat by tucking feet in tight. We have been observing a goose that truly has no foot but rather a "stump" and she lands on ice as well as water. Hope that helps you I love to watch the Canada geese for who they bring in with them! Snow geese and Greater White Fronted geese are a treat for me!
