Oh Maggie these are just great, pretty darn colorful for such low light and the high ISO looks very good with your help.
I think #4 was going for a 'high five' from you! Great work, nicely presented, did that last one have anything to do with a thread by 'Jody' ?

Great shots, Maggie. Indeed, the MkIII does handle those high ISO's well. They are all very nice, though #3 and #5 are definitely my favorites. These put a smile on my face. : )
David, yes, the MKIII handles high ISOs extremely well. And a smile on a face is always a good thing - thank you .

Nicely done, Maggie! I think the MkIII performance at high ISOs is just amazing. An ISO 3200 shot on a MkIII can actually look better than an ISO 800 shot on the MkIIN. I haven't tried yet to compare the performance without noise reduction to ones with, but the only downside that I can see for using the noise reduction all the time is that you can't quite shoot 10 fps - which is not something I do very often, if at all, anyway!

Thanks, Susan. I haven't pushed the ISO to the max - not even close. I must have confused some by mentioning the noise reducer - sorry. The camera noise reducer setting is disabled. This was an external program.

Amazing high ISO performance of the 1DMk3. I can't help but giggling by myself when I looked at image #4 and read your comments "back off and nobody will get hurt"
What settings did you use in noise reduction when you do the raws conversion (assuming you shot in raw)? Nice series, Maggie.
Thank you, Stephen Well, that's what he was thinking, I'm sure. These tiny hummers are ferocious little beasts
I didn't use any noise reduction when processing the RAW images. Once in PS, I used Neat Image. Hope that's what you were asking

Great stuff Maggie, sticking your head out the window will only get it very wet, if your weather is anything like ours you know, make sure you protect that terrific camera, Verno
Hi Vern, the camera contains more data than my head, so I'll protect it (camera, that is). Thanks much
