More test shots with the MKIII - nothing but ordinary birds/ducks while waiting for the exotic Bird of Paradise to show up. Could be a long wait

Most of these were taken very late in the day. MKIII, 400/5.6

#4 Common Merganser - first one I've ever seen. The Hooded Merganser is a lot more common than the Common Merganser around here.

Good Golly Ms Molly....I mean Ms Maggie.
Quite the wonderful detail and color....can't wait to hear Ken(zoom) comment on the pigeon. Likely just a "quack"

# 3 and 8 are my favorites. I also like the composition in # 5.

Really nice series, Maggie. I also shoot with the 400 f/5.6 and love it. I wouldn't mind trying a Mark II or III instead of my 20D but I really can't complain.

Number 5 is a great capture.

Pigeons, yes - other forms of wildlife...NO

I really like, #5. He is running across the water, to get flying speed. When I see this, I am reminded how Man learned to fly, by studying birds.
