I'm not sure if you folks approve of videos on this board but, given the subject matter, I think you may enjoy this:

A buddy of mine, John, took me up for some aeros in a Bulldog the other day. We took off from, and returned to, Kemble aerodrome in the Cotswolds, UK, flew to take a look at my house, then John practiced over the Marlborough Downs. Hope you like it.

I used my Olympus OM-D and Rokinon 7.5mm fish eye.

I was able to chat with the owner / pilot of the BK Bird this morning before they headed back to Long Island with a stop over in Cape May for gas.

This one was built in 1930 and first sold in 1931. He has an actual photo of it and 4 other Birds in a line he said and this was the only one in the photo that you could see the registration number on.

It's got a 24 gallon tank .. I'm thinking he's got the 90 hp as he said there is a 100 hp engine that runs thru 5.5 gallons of fuel an hour. He used 10 gallons from Cape May to Horne Point, MD.

He ended up taking another guy back ( photog who shot the Bamboo Bomber pilot for an antique fly in calander ) as the 150 that was going to trail him back to Long Island had a full load of fuel and with the soft field, 3 BIG guys in that plane was more than a notion .. so they split up the load.

A few more of it from this morning ...... yes, it has the KINNER engine

The rain started around 1130 and in the next 1.5 hours almost all planes had left !!

It was pouring out there but I was bound and determined to wait on the T-50, and I got soaked !! Luckily I had put on a larger insulated shirt, so it covered my camera bodies while wearing the Black Rapid dual camera harness.

But .. Do You Want The Shot or Don't You ??

Guess everyone knew the N number of that Sportster cuz it's on the bottom of the wing .. but what should surprise everyone is how transparent those wings are ..

Appreciate the opportunity to post some of the stuff from today here !! What I need to do is just start at the beginning of my folder now and work on all the photos for myself and give you folks a break.

Curtis,
Just some info, the Sportster B-1 is from the Mid Atlantic Air Museum in Reading, Pa. The Pres/Curator of the museum is Russ Strine the fellow in the photo behind left wing in (appears to be) in a yellow shirt with the white/gray hair. Fantastic B-25 pilot!

Thank you for the additional info .. that plane is NICE ! The folks here evidently had a heads up that it might show, but were not holding out hopes due to the weather .. He may of been on the ground an hour and EVERYBODY there looked her over !!

I struggled getting good photos of it .. I'm hoping to go to Reading for the June 7th weekend !!

Curtis, fantastic work at the antique fly in yesterday, incluing braving the rain to take some of the images!

Some day I have to get over to the Spitfire hangar in your neighborhood. Do you know if that's open to walk into and check out the aircraft and I believe a couple antique cars? I couldn't find a contact for the hangar.

Paine Field is littered with 787 Dreamliners. Boeing has even leased (and closed) one of the runways to find places to park them.
