Upload & Sell: On
A while back I mentioned I had purchased a Hasselblad 500CM and was going to be experimenting with film. It has been a fun experience thus far. When things move from experimentation to quality image making, I'll post some examples. While shooting analog is stimulating and an interesting diversion, I'm not getting rid of my digital equipment anytime soon.
All that being said, I've really gone off the rail now with a new camera project. The monster combination of a Kodak Aero Ektar F/2.5 179mm lens mounted on a Graflex Pacemaker Speed Graphic. I am on a quest to build this combo. The Aero Ektar is a 7-inch lens that was primarily used in aerial cameras during the later part of WWII and the Korean War. It has no shutter and (when stopped down to 2.5) it has a very shallow depth of field and some of the creamiest bokah you've ever seen.
I'm seeking the help of my MA2A brothers and sisters to be on the lookout for a 1955 or newer Graflex Pacemaker Speed Graphic - mint condition of course - and a clean Kodak Aero Ektar f/2.5 lens (1940's vintage?). If you know of someone looking to sell either or both, or you happen to have these little darlings laying around your place, please PM me and let's talk.
There is some personal mojo in this project for me. My dad used many Speed Graphics and Aero Ektars when he was in the Air Force - especially during the 1950's. Using this beast will be like channeling my father. Thanks.
BTW, the Aero Ektar lenses generally have a touch of radiation going on inside - very cool
