Fabulous, Jim. Very dramatic and the lighting is perfect.

Wonderful shot of your grand-daughter as well - she looks very happy

Thanks Guys, yes it was a great day. Chandler and I headed out to KTKI at 7:30 and got an hour of R/C flight in while the field was IFR, then we hopped in the Cub and he got another hour of dual. We headed off to lunch, then on to help Jennifer get everything ready at the stable. 2,200 images later we packed up and went home Quite a day.

Global Warming has struck again, so my trip to Austin at 5 am looks like a no go. Our streets are a mess, think I'll Photoshop by the fire.

Hi Lynn,

Didn't think I wanted to launch out for Austin at 5 am. They're expecting a freezing mix Tuesday and Wednesday anyway.

What a terrific day for Papa Jim. No better way to spend Sunday than with family. BTW, are Chandler's feet as big as those boots look? If he grows into that foundation, he is going to be a bigger than average young man. Good thing you've got some more commodious aircraft inbound to HQ. I'll bet Chandler will make a great right seat in the PC-12

My eldest had size 16 feet when he was 14-years old. He ended up 6'-5" and 265 lbs.

BTW, love the equine images. The monochrome barrel racing practice photographs are favorites. Good lookin' young ladies riding horses at break-neck speeds. My favorite part of any rodeo.

Thanks Jeff! Funny how run down, ramshackle surroundings can take on "character" with the right lens and light. There was some discussion about finding acreage and creating a nice place in the country where the horses would be a few steps from the front door. I tossed in the idea that they might want to build the barn about a quarter mile north and west of the main residence, due to our prevailing southerly flow. Chandler threw in the need for a grass strip, I love that little guy! Yes, his feet fit those boots, his older brother is moving through size twelves at the moment. I wore 12's in 6th grade.

Chandler had just completed our run up Saturday morning when we were instructed to "hold short for landing traffic". Moments later a shiny new PC-12 slipped down the glide slope and touched down in front of us. We both commented on future possibilities.

Jim, a piece of property with room for about 6000 ft. of grass would fit perfectly for the much faster "horses"...

I like the way you think Ryan! The PC12 could get in and out of that with no trouble at all. Heck I think their new jet version could too.

Slow night, so I'll post a nutso:

I watch a lot of old movies, including war movies. I always get frustrated when the gunners continuously miss the enemy aircraft. I mean, they are right there in front of you, how do you miss

Looking through some old photos, I discovered why...Oh, yeah, I get it now. And no one was shooting at me!

Funny you post this and talk about "leading" a subject.

I have far, far too many hours behind video cameras and as such, I tend to over lead my subjects. I'll bet I cut off 100 tails for every nose I cut off.

COOL! I think every kid has that "I want a horse" phase. Is she going to be taught how to do all the feeding and care?
