I know you can buy CPL for it, but given Ive tried CPLs on other long lenses & the sky goes spastic from one side of the pan to the next...forget CPL s for my action shooting.

You can drop in a nice ND8 to get the shutter speed nice for shooting moving things that need to look like they're moving (cars, bikes, propellers, etc.)

I've got the CP drop in as well as an ND4 drop in, which I've used at air shows with some success. Only caveat there is that every time you swap out drop in filters, you're inviting dirt to come drifting into the lens/camera. If you don't notice soon enough, you can end up with a couple hundred images with an unwanted spot or hair in them. DAMIK

Good point Gero, and I am really tired of sensor crud at the moment. I can't imagine what the guys in dry climates deal with. Each time I got the sensors just about perfect, I'd go for absolutely perfect and end up with a ton of crud, and it all began again. I use visible dusts chamber clean swabs and solution. When you use the lighted sensor loupe, you see all the little particles clinging to the chamber, just waiting to do a full stop landing on your sensor.

Does seem soft in some places. beats me - could be atmospherics? i was busy collecting as much dust as I could in my camera bodies to pay attention to Jims video technique!

Nice shot Jeff, reminds me of when I was lucky enough to get shots of the STS-129 crew practicing night landings from across the river. Not nearly as gorgeous as yours though, that tower makes it pop.

So, funny story. I have a new boss at work. He looks a LOT like HIS boss.

So today in the morning meeting I asked him if he was going to be in the meeting...ooops

He laughed about it, and I've never actually officially met him or duffy (his boss), and he was like "yes, we're pretty similar"

Still, a good start to the day considering we're expecting a full restructuring of our level too...oi

Jim, Makes you wonder why there isn't a small vacuum, like the keyboard vacuums, to get that crud off the sides.
