Three more...

The only other thing I've shot lately was the funeral of a 24-year old suicide victim, at the request of her parents, who are friends of mine. That was a tough assignment, but they seem grateful to have the photos.

Hmm...that F-86 in the back corner sure looks familiar. Wonder if it's the same one...

Could be, I'll have a look at the couple of other shots I have of that Sabre.

Are you thinking FU-012 or FU-666?

could really be either. But realistically probably none of the above.

Wow, very good call! The F-86 in my picture is the lead bird in your shot:

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

Here's another shot from Chino - This trip was part of my test run with the 24mm TS-E L II. Lovely lens, but man is it $$...

Crazy that I thought that the two could even be related...strange coincidence that I was actually right for once...it doesn't happen much, ask the wife :-P

Nice shot Jay.

Speaking of the wife, here's our picture for the christmas cards this year (didn't catch the crane behind my head since I was shooting from a tripod on a timer, but oh well, at 3" across even I won't notice the crane :P )

Cute family shot Steven. A couple of clone stamp clicks and that crane would be history, if it bothers you.

Welcome, Joe! That's a very cool effect you achieved with the 24 TS: almost looks like you were shooting miniatures. Mind telling us what lens contortions you used? A lot of museums don't allow tripods, or did you shoot those hand-held?

Thanks steve, the shot was done with +8 degree tilt up with the focal point on the intake of the Sabre (Fined tuned via live view, it's very tough to see the proper focus with the viewfinder) then I shot one frame center, and one frame each 12mm full shift left and right.

The final stitch is quite a bit wider, but I cropped it for composition.

The Planes of Fame museum allows tripods and I had the place mostly to myself, so it was perfect for playing with the TS-E. I don't think I could get this particular shot if I had to shot hand held.

Thanks for the details, Joe. I'll have to take my 17mm TS out for a little playtime: I love the Dinky-Toy effect.

Cool TS shots Joe. I was never able to get much success when I played with that lens.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I am glad to be back and have a decent job in my field and that I enjoy. Still waiting on the FAA to become a controller but who knows, I may just stay where I am if they take forever. If anyone finds themselves in Florida for Sun N Fun or the LSA expo in January, give me a holler. More than happy to link up.

Also does anyone have any ideas when the next ISAP symposium is going to be? Feb? March? April?
