I saw my buddy David at the Post Office the other day. He has two Teslas, a roadster and a new Model S. I asked, "So, how's the new ride treatin' ya?" He responded, with tongue firmly planted in his cheek, "Terrible. Just ghastly!"

Back on Terra Firm'a
Thanks guys for the kind words, the Omaka Air Show is held bi-annually as occurs with Wanaka, & therefore the next one is in 2015, and was actually more impressive than Wanaka especially for Gold Pass holders and the service could not have been more friendly.
enjoy

How does that old joke go? In order for something to qualify as a hobby for guys, it has to a) cost a lot of money, b) make a lot of noise and c) burn a lot of gas.

Well, that's going to change within our lifetimes, though maybe not completely. I admit the sensory 'cocktail' is different with an EV, but there's more to driving than engine noise and the smell of exhaust. Besides, when you drift an S you can hear the tires squeal so much more clearly...

I'll take a stab at this before Rodolfo jumps in.

If that parking space is just an ordinary space with a 'electric vehicles only' sign, I'd only be mildly annoyed to find it "ICE'd" (that's what we electric car owners call it when an internal combustion engine vehicle parks in a spot designated for EV's) because I see no particular reason why EV's should be favored when it comes to parking. If they are favored, it's because the local political jurisdiction (or the lot's owner) wants to promote EV's.

If, however, a designated EV parking space is outfitted with a charging

Steve, I ahve a biger bugbear, my wife is virtually confined to a wheelchair these days,....you should try getting a disabled parking spot cause you HAVE to unload a wheelchair for access....

Dunno about in the US but here it seems that in a few places Stupidity is considered a disability...

Sorry to hear of your wife spending so much time in a wheel chair, you may wish to check out this link about these Kiwi guy's who have developed a thoroughly engineered conversion solution to a Skoda Yeti, which the French are now importing & distributing through Europe http://udrivemobility.com, it might be worth a look as I understand that because of it dimension it does not rely on disabled parking spaces.

I don't know about other parts of the country, but here in the Boston area it is very, very, very rare that someone is in a handicapped spot illegally. I can't even remember the last time I saw one.

Truthfully, I pulled into that space just for the pic, then pulled out. No charging station and the space is perpetually empty while the rest of the parking lot is perpetually full. I really kind of look at it as mildly annoying, kind of like the "employee of the month" sign in a space by the front door of a Marriott when I'm dragging in at midnight after a day of schlepping. Yes, if the electric car space had a charging unit that would be a mean move to park there, and disabled spaces (although I see quite a bit of abuse) is really tacky. There seems to be more disabled spaces than disabled people, but I'd rather have it that way than have one challenged person be inconvenienced, anywhere.

The Ev space is in Fry's parking lot, one space, no amenities, give me a break. Besides, if you're in a Volt, I paid for the 50 K overage so the owner doesn't deserve a preferred space!

Looks like I'll be putting a team of photographers/videographers together to work with me in my new role. Know anywhere I can find a dozen great shooters who have a heart for our military? We met with Mark Cuban today and he is all in, to the tune of "whatever it takes!" I guess the fuse is officially lit!

The r-18's simply blow me away. Reminds me of the sound I heard an ASK-21 make on a high speed low pass at Val Air in Durango. Will Audi give McNish another opportunity to nuke one of these beasts?
