My fellow MA2A associates. As many of you know, behind the scenes Steve Zimmermann, Jo Hunter, Jay Beckman and others have been working diligently to present our great friend Jim Wilson with a photograph to commemorate the life of his dear friend Glenn Smith; who was tragically killed in an accident at the Quad-City Air Show last month. While I was not able to attend the Alliance Air Show this weekend, many of the MA2A family were there this morning when Steve made the presentation.

Below are photographs Larry Grace took during the presentation. It was clearly an emotional moment for Jim and his loving friends. Many thanks to all who participated in one way or another. I think all who have spent any time here on MA2A recognize the special associations and friendships that have been fostered by Jim's grace and generosity. I'm hoping others who were there will chime in with their thoughts and photographs.

I mostly lurk around here and admire all the great photography but... that final shot is a priceless photo of a priceless guy holding a priceless photo. Kudos to all involved.

The photo with Jim and the print is priceless, glad to help great people do great things. Jim is that great person, after all he has brought all of us together here for one thing, well, ok maybe two purposes.

About to jump in the shower and hit the hay in preparation for a day that will most certainly be non-stop bop. "Thank you" is woefully inadequate, but I can't seem to find any other words at this juncture. You all mean so much to me, your love and support long before Glenn's loss has been a priceless gift, your recent outpouring and the thoughtfulness of this gift, well I can't begin to express my appreciation.

Last night, and today, HQ was filled with good friends, great food, laughter, tears, flight and photography. A dozen times today I looked at my hangar filled with wonderful friends and was thankful, and mindful of all of you who couldn't be with us. I had the honor of hosting a group of friends, form all corners of the globe, who came solely to enjoy each other, and that we did.

So, to all of you who make up our MA2A family, present or not this weekend, my deepest thanks for making this the wonderful place that it is.

Thanks for the cracking flight in the Bonanza that was quit an tutorial about formation flying very interesting we got Laura home we just found out five miles before were here that we were driving without headlight so that was special see you all tomorrow for another day of adventures

Here's my posed shot of the MA2A contingent at HQ this morning. Missing is Laura (nightowlcat), who rolled in late this afternoon after a harrowing day on the airlines. I'm too tired to list all the folks in the shot, but maybe someone else who's still awake-er than I can do it.

Couple more from around the hangars today. I spent the rest of the time hopping rides in the Remos, doing photo formation flights with Glenn's 172 and Jim's Cub. I'm looking forward to seeing a lot more of today's A2A action from everyone.
