@ Skyhawkpilot, The Orange one has AirBags mounted in the suspension, with onboard compressor n tanks. When they park it drops to the ground, ( a little too low for my tastes) lifts up about 4" when it starts n moves..

Amazing. I didn't think anything like that existed. I always thought it was a set height above the ground...shows how much I really know about cars. But 4" still seems really low to me. I would still bottom out the car at that height.

Some of these guys have driving lowered cars down to a fine art, you should see them negotiate a driveway, they come in at a 45 degree angle & come up one wheel at a time,

Air bags seems much better, instant height control, probalbly up to 6"

I drive a pickup..I can change my oil without putting it up on a jack. I have to remember that other vehicles I drive don't have quite the same clearance, I've gotten in trouble, before

For those who have Facebook. It's not my photo, hence the link. Howard Pardue's funeral was today. Rod Lewis brought three of his Bearcat's and Nelson Ezell flew Howard's Sea Fury that was also a yearly runner at Reno.

Hey, Tim, you're the walking encyclopedia of all things Reno: who owned and who flew the Yak-3 that was involved in a takeoff crash at Reno a number of years back? The Yak that debuted at Wanaka last weekend was apparently rebuilt from that wreck.

...and some more NZ countryside. Only this time, it's from a glider. Marcia and I went flying yesterday in a pair of Duo Discus XL gliders out of Omarama, the flight of a lifetime. We ended up in formation over Mt Cook and Mt Tasman just before sunset. Spectacular isn't the half of it.

Steve,
those landscapes are magnificent, and I bet it must have been even nicer doing it in a pair of gliders. Your shot with the other glider ahead of you is awesome.

Don't know that one.

A little Google search though came up with this. About half way into the report. I have never heard of the guy.

My first year was 2000. 1999 was the year Levitiz was killed when Miss Ashley II broke up.

+1 on that as well - that should be researched and sold to 1) the glider company, 2) the company that rents glider time, 3) the airport from which it came, 4) the dept. of tourism... But I bet you've already thought of that and already have phone calls in to the appropriate offices. (or will once you are done with your vacation)
