A painting!

I like this, Jim... the movement of the brushstrokes, rich color.
Are you using Painter?

it's a really cool concept Jim, but for me it's not really doin' it. I love the brush strokes of the grass and lower trees, but the middle and top seem to lose their composure. Half dome (is it half dome?) and the rocks are good but the brush strokes in the sky do not pull the scene together. I'm very sorry if I'm too vague as I normally don't comment on painted scenes.

Jim, if you haven't as yet, take a look at Corel Painter.

There are many excellent mediums (oils, pastels, watercolor...) and brushes in this software that will give you much more of a painterly result; more defined brushstrokes vs smudging. You might enjoy it.

I like this but I agree if you enjoy this use corel painter! its amazing the stuff you can do with it. Also to learn it I (no I dont work for them) like to use Lynda.com. That site is amazing for teaching software, its all video tutorials on pretty much any software you want and its only $25 a month! (sorry I really do love that site)
