p.1 #1 · Tell me what you think

A friend of mine wanted to send out Christmas cards... so I took a few shots and the one they like the best (photo 1)... but with a few changes (the guy sitting.. face, the background, etc.)... I also addes lights to the tree, and took a photo of another window in the house and added the yard.

the edits you did are good (wouldn't have known unless you stated so).

but shot still looks like a P&S that anyone could have taken...not that it is not nice, but not remarkable either.

I agree with Greg, definately not a great shot to begin with, but nice PS work. As far as comp goes, and since you've shopped it already, I'd put something like photos or a christmas type painting or sign above the husband and son to fill all that space on the wall. Maybe a sign that says "Merry Christmas from...." would be cool.
