Hmm, should I send this to every cheapskate who wants me to work for a pittance/free? They probably wouldn't get it as they'd think

A business that survives/succeeds by finding new "free" photographers everytime they need one is bottomfeeding. If nothing else, they build a list of shooters who will never work for them again. It's questionable that they are the kind of client that would be a long term business foundation as they trade/risk price against quality all the time.

Keep in mind that "free" works for photographers and others at times and no photographer or supplier can stay in business providing free product for long either. "Free" or trade works for the newbie building a portfolio - photographer, model, make-up artist, etc.

Much like they say in the wedding forums, you shouldn't be worrying about the cheap low quality shooters, they either move up or out. They aren't the competition or the business level you want to be at.
