Dave -
The SPAM shots were nice and all, but I got a kick out of the last shot.

Thanks Ken.....I think we should all include a "habitat" shot

Hi Dave I like your enviorment but not for my arteries now are you feeding that poor little bird junk food. Yeah it's me and I am in my new place but have not picked up a camera in awhile. I am also having some trouble with this server. Outlet express is giving me a lot of trouble and so far I have had 5 different persons fix it. Don't you just love modern stuff. BTW the photos are really great and would make great cards.
Lou
Thanks Lou....you'll be all up to speed once the bugs get worked out.
Be well

Dave,
Amazing - I'm going to try this combo sometime ---- using a 400 with a 25mm tube, that is. My favorite of this set is #7 --- just love the colors and the simplicity of the shot. And really glad you included a view of the area. What do you do if someone's in your spot?
Thanks Cris.
The tube is great if you cahn work close to the birds. The 25mm gives me a working distance of about 6'-20'.....NO focus beyond that 20'. I have had to wait for that parking slot.....I usually occupy the first 2 spaces and get some funny stares!

HI Dave,
Very nice of you to include that last shot showing their natural habitat
Super fine work my friend!
Ken
Thank you sir....much appreciated comment
Goes to show you can create good photos anywhere...
Im feeling guilty my camera has been resting in its case since Yellowstone has closed
I just have to wonder what the customers at Mcd's thought, many must have thought you were some goverment agent!
Super shots and fun story. This is a good thing for nature photogs of any experience level. You prove that you don't need to travel long distances or go to exotic places to find great subjects and produce excellent photographs. These are no longer common birds when you display them in such an uncommon way. Great work and funny as heck that they come from McDonalds. .
imho, it's the quality of the shot, not the subject that makes for excellent photography. these maybe common sparrows but they were captured with fine detail and beauty. great work. i especially like the habitat shot. too funny.
One of the coolest things you did in this post, Dave, is the diagram. It really lays a great foundation for the idea of a good photo, you don't need to be in some foreign land, spending tons of money to get there. You simply go to the golden arches, and wait. If you wait, they will come
And that's when the talent shines, you show that talent well, buddy. Those sparrows are far from "common" in my eyes. And apparently from responses some other eyes agree.
PS - watch that coffee, though, I think they add sugar
Very nice of you to include that last shot showing their natural habitat
Super fine work my friend!
Ken
I ditto what Ken said, I'm pretty sure when that last one popped on my screen I spit some of my apple out and it hit my monitor, very nice natural habitat indeed
I would be willing to bet you have one with a fry in its mouth....
Pretty amazing stuff, Dave--especially MCD's! I checked out my local one--nothing to shoot at all--although I have been getting my coffee there and then going down to my little park on the water.
