read this in another thread I'm a bit tired of all the nostril shots of birds on this forum
Many, including me, photograph what is available and do it with pleasure.
If it's closeups of common sparrows and not elegant avians or exotic wildlife, it's still special and meaningful nature photography to me.
Time for more SPAM; SParrows At McDonald's
Was dull and overcast at the "Golden Arches" this morning,
but a cute little female "SPAMmer" was curtly posing.
All 1D2N, 400mm v/5.6L and 25mm tube, ISO 800
and typically f/6.3 at 1/250-1/400

These are just great shots Dave. And its interesting to see where you're taking them. There's certainly nothing wrong with beautifully done shots of any animals in my book.
, once again MickyD's pays off for you. #2 and #6 are my favorites. The feather detail on #6 is amazing. You should be feeding those sparrows for posing so good for you!

appreciated Steve, we all do our best and you are so right
Hi Dave I like your enviorment but not for my arteries now are you feeding that poor little bird junk food. Yeah it's me and I am in my new place but have not picked up a camera in awhile. I am also having some trouble with this server. Outlet express is giving me a lot of trouble and so far I have had 5 different persons fix it. Don't you just love modern stuff. BTW the photos are really great and would make great cards.

Amazing - I'm going to try this combo sometime ---- using a 400 with a 25mm tube, that is. My favorite of this set is #7 --- just love the colors and the simplicity of the shot. And really glad you included a view of the area. What do you do if someone's in your spot?
A fantastic set of shots of everyday birds is still a set of fantastic shots It's nice to see a creative shot of common birds. Always good to have some variety. Great stuff Dave.

I like how you were able to capture his nostrils with a catchlight in them.

Thank you Doug, they are all I can find right now and I find them actually interesting and full of character. And they do have some nice coloration
Dave, Why don't you try Crows at Taco Bell, or Seagulls at Safeway? Every think you are alone? Just toss some leftover chinese out the window at Safeway. Even Mc D birds need love. Bruce
Keep posting nostril shots of birds, Dave. These are just a pleasure to view and you are doing a great job with that combo. I'm sure the birds are also very pleased with you, since you are making them look so good.
