I bought this wonderful camera a while back from another FM'er for an anniversary
gift to my wife and I. We have taken some marvelous pics with it. However,
it stays in the closet most of the time, since I tend to reach for the 1DMKII almost always.
I am reluctantly putting it up for sale. It comes with original box, manual, CDs, cables
an extra battery, and a lowepro bag. It doesn't have the lens shade. I also have
a filter on the front element. I would like to get $725 for the package, shipped. Pricing
is firm on this one. the last image of the cat was taken at 10mp with a pocket wizard
and multidome. Since this camera can shoot on two cards, I am including a memory
stick, and 1gb CF card.
I never shot RAW with it. In my research prior to buying, I read RAW is slow..
AF seems decently quick in daylight. It is easily as heavy as my 20D.
the EVF is ok. I do miss the optical viewfinder when shooting. NOt sure
about RAW and JPEG buffer, since i never used this camera to shoot bursts.
Don't want to turn this into a camera review thread but guess I am. This is the best point and shoot I have owned. I shoot raw with it but do not need to shoot burst so write speeds are not an issue for me. Autofocus in daylight is excellent (almost no lag) and less so indoors in lower light. It is still very good there. My one beef with the camera is that it does not have an optical viewfinder. The LCD - if you use it - the y perspective of a waist level viewfinder and this has been compared to a Hassy in some reviews. I keep in mind that it is not a DSLR and what I use it for so I don't That pic of the cat shows that the Zeiss glass is spectacular and it is representative of the image quality I get with mine. Check the user reviews at dpreview. Don't think there is an unhappy customer in the bunch.
