I've had this beautiful lens for just over a month. I bought it because I promised someone I'd shoot their wedding. The main lens I use failed a few weeks before the wedding. I sent it off for repair but the part it needed was on back order. I decided to order this one when I found out my Sigma wasn’t going to be back in time.
The wedding has been shot & my regular lens has returned from KEH. I'd really like to keep this lens but I am in the process of building a house and I've decided the 17-55 lens has got to go! When I ordered this lens, I knew it was going to cost over $110 to repair the Sigma. When the B&H sales rep offered me a Mack 7 year warranty for $40 I opted to buy one with this lens. I have not registered the Mack warranty yet. I called Mack & verified it will be OK for whomever I sell it to to register the warranty.
The lens is in mint condition. The lens hood is in great shape too, maybe shows a hint of being carried around in my camera bag. I have both of the original Canon boxes.
If you were to buy everything new from B&H this is what it would cost:
17-55 2.8 IS Lens - $999
EW-83J hood - $49.95
MACK 7yr Warranty - $39.95
Total: $1088.90
I am asking $925. Shipping is negotiable.
