Looks like the fielder had a "can't miss" opportunity but you can't tell from that angle without a doubt. 2nd shot shows the best chance of the tag being made but it hasn't been made yet. Perhaps (just perhaps) he slid under the tag...we can't tell for sure with this series.
Mark, Nice shots. I feel good that someone else uses a 30D (20D in my case) and the 70-200. Do you ever use an extender on that lens? I use an old 2X and have very good results. Sure, it isn't as sharp as it could be but for my budget, it works well.
