Really the biggest issue with the M8 is that Guy has not received his yet but I gather from the smiley face above that B&H may have fixed this problem!

Magenta shadows, or cloth? I can make pictures at will of magenta cloth, with certain items of clothing, in daylight, but shadows remain black for me, as does anything painted black. On the Leica forum, someone guessed that the thin IR filter lets too much IR light through, which interacts with certain materials to give visible red light.

Btw, my 50/1.4 Asph. was wrongly adjusted. With the replacement I got from the store, I can now focus properly. Thanks to everyone who sent me tips.

I called B&H, they had stock. He put me on hold to get me wire transfer info, and when he came back (about 5 mins later!) he said they had all gone! Arrgghh!!

The red/magenta shadows I saw were in portraits. The shadows under the chin and betweeen the fingers went red/magenta. They were taken with available light, but I don't know what the light source was.

Yeah, I checked when I got the notice from B&H, but they were all gone already. Besides, I really don't want a silver for this one. My anthracite R9, lovely though it is, is a lot more conspicuous in window and eyeglass reflections than any black camera.

Yea Guy....I got the same email after I ordered one, and received an auto reply confirmation. I just emailed and asked them to cancel and not charge my CC. Not good business at all!

Perhaps this is why the guy said they didn't have stock when he came back with wire transfer info..... but he didn't say so.

If I had wired money, and then they told me, I would have been *really* angry.... so maybe it's for the best
