I decided to post a tutorial on how to do the entire treatment of Courtney's face; eyes, lighting, etc.
It's long, 4 pages, but here we go:
First, this is a 78meg TIF file from Capture One RAW processing software. All settings and numerical values are based on extreme high resolution. Your values and settings will vary depending on the resolution of YOUR file.
Open file, zoom in close on the eye(s).

Your going to do some very aggressive sharpening here... in this case I go for the following values. (see photo) The point is to really bring out detail in the iris. (This looks sharper in real life than on the discussion board)
Next, make two duplicate layers and above the middle one open a new layer (empty). This is for the brush tool where you will do your iris enhancements.
Choose your brush tool and color and adjust your diameter to fit inside the iris OPPOSITE THE REFLECTION ON THE EYE. Set you brush tool for 100% opacity and flow!! Paint a half-moon as indicated.
Next, get your erase tool (easier than fooling with masks) and smooth out the ends of the crescent moon as indicated. I forgot to circle the opacity and flow indicators, but make sure they are at about 30% each. This is a gradual erasure. You're going to smooth it out...blend it in... The red arrows indicate the direction of your adjustments; you erase gradually OUTWARD never inward.

Now we're going to do the outline of the iris... Open another empty layer2 above the empty layer1 (see red circle) see the settings change on the brush tool and color.
Now, zoom out to see the entire image and yu will notice the iris color is much too intense. Adjust the Iris color layer while looking at this perspective. LESS IS MORE!!! The adjustments are VERY subtle especially in a dark photo. DID I MENTION LESS IS MORE Also, adjust the opacity on the iris border line as well.
Merge the two brush tool layers with the middle image layer, disable the top and bottom layers for now and choose that middle layer...
Open your Curves dialogue box and make the following adjustments, focusingon the face only. Forget the hair. Make your adjustments based on how the face looks.
Next, activate the top layer, choose your brush tool and adjust the diameter HUGE! as shown. Also pay attention to the Opacity and Flow settings. Mid 30's and no more!... We're going to darken the top layer now... (Plus, we're not using an adjustment layer because of our subsequent steps...)

Phil-Stop now!! Save yourself alot of time and grab a demo version of snagit - it makes grabbing and annotating screen captures so easy, you'll use it just for the fun of it. http://www.techsmith.com/snagit.asp?CMP=KgoogleStm HTH

I'm using HyperSnap-DX right now, seemed easy enough to me... Since I've gone this far I'm going to go ahead and finish (almost done) then I'll look at SnagIt and I may change it. But Thanks!
Haven't heard of that one. I only suggested it b/c it looked like you were using PS to annotate the screen captures. But check it out, it's really a great tol. Carry on then
BTW - Sorry, wasn't trying to breach protocol by interrupting a tutorial - I should have PM'ed you.

Not a problem... I was trying to hurry through it and it turned into a larger project than I though. You are probably right, I am annotating on PS!! WHITE-TRASH I am...
