Two things strike me as odd.
1. Why it is still not in Sigma's official site.
2. How is it that a tiny place in the Mediterranean was the first to know?
p.1 #2 · Sigma announce APO 50-150 mm F2.8 DC lens
1: Sigma might be slow updating their web site. Wouldn't be the first time...
2: (Finnish to me means Finland, which is not in the Mediterranean) They might not be the first to know, but rather the first who couldn't keep something secret until the day there were supposed to say... Could just be a web site screwup. Something appeared in the price lists, but not available yet. And they added it, while everyone else waited for confirmation of availability?
p.1 #6 · Sigma announce APO 50-150 mm F2.8 DC lens
Sigma must be very slow at updating the North American web site. They still don't list the newer version of the 80-400 OS lens as being available with the DG designation, even though they have been available since Feb roughly, and I bought one, so know they exist.
p.1 #7 · Sigma announce APO 50-150 mm F2.8 DC lens
Quite an interesting announcement from Sigma. I wonder if a new generation of focal lengths will be available for the non full frame cameras that will continue to divide the two camps of lenses to choose from. The only great advantage is to the owners of those camera since they have the choice to go between the specialized lenses for their setup and the regular ones everyone else uses on their 1 cameras.
