Here's another from the recent trip to Mendocino. This was taken from the Headlands. It was an extremely windy evening...the birds were being blown about and nobody was willing to get out of their cars to enjoy the sunset. My GF emphatically refused to leave the car as well. But the crazy photographer wanna-be was!! I was honestly not expecting the tripod to be able to withstand the windy conditions but it did fine (you can bet I had a firm grasp upon at all times though!).
I believe the composition could have been much stronger had the setting sun been located in the left 3rd of the frame, but you are where you are when you are! Still, I liked this image enough to share with you all.
Obviously a difficult and challenging exposure, and I like the result. It does feel nicely of an ending to a day, and as if one were standing close to the end of the world. I can relate with your windy experience, having just spent 2 windy weeks in Sardinia, many times alone out there taking the photos, the family safe from the wind inside the car...

Santiago - Thank you! It very much was like standing at the end of the world...
Doug - Thanks for the kind words - I still got to use your filters (though not on this specific image) and only wish I had a longer vacation to give them more of a workout!
Ute - Thank you for taking the time to look and comment, much appreciated.
Ryan - many thanks...hehe, you're looking forward to coming down here and I'm aching to get up to your neighborhood as well. I hope you have a great trip down.
