Just curious, why would you not use the base ISO of 200, rather than 1600, when shooting on a tripod? The longer exposures would have less noise and less effect of mirror slap or other like issues.

I'm considering a new ballhead. Anybody have a comparison between the Markins or kirk bh-3.

an amatuer here ..

i thought you had to increase the iso for night shots, and possibly slow down the shutter speed to 1/30th ( rather than default on d70 of 1/60 ) and then probably shoot at f5.6 or lower ...... ??

when it warms up , i.ll go out and practise ..*L but any body who shoots night regularly who could point me in the right direction, your assistance would be greatly appreciated .....
