After waiting the month of December with a D200 on backorder from Adorama I finally cancelled my order today and ordered an S3. I'm not excited about it but I think it will serve me for what I do. I'll let the kinks get worked out with the D200 and wait and see what comes next. I know the S3 has it drawbacks but I'm lazy and don't want to spend all my time working with RAW files. I just wish the darn thing was a little more versatile.
if you believe the internet why are you shooting Nikon at all?
I never really get into the new cameras till I start to see output from the folks I know can shoot, not the newbies and switchers but folks who can take a picture with Any camera and have it be great. The first month is filled with either folks adjusting to new gear or folks who Cannot adjust and then you see the bodies up for sale in the buy and sell forums.

gear is such a non factor in taking great pictures
Get the S3 if it suits your fancy, but it isn't the camera 99% of the time that limits us at this point, I wish it were not true so I could blame my gear more often
