p.1 #1 · zoo trip with the 28-300L

This was my first trip using this lens. I think although it is heavy, it is the perfect lens for Zoos and parks. Very sharp at all focal lengths. Here is a few samples.

Wade,

Excellent set of shots! I especially like the shot of the lion for the composition.

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Wade,

It's hard not to like this lens because of its versatile range. The IS on the 28-300mm is very good, much better than the 100-400mm IS. Like you said it is a great lens to carry for things like the Zoo or when when you only have room for one lens. I use my 100-400 more because of the reach but really enjoy the 28-300. You got some great shots with it. The 28mm shot and the 300mm shot show its potential at both ends.

Thanks for sharing.

Yeah I had the 100-400 and traded it for this lens but I really did like it also. I cant decide if I should get the 100-400 again or maybe a 400 5.8. The IS is a really great feature.
