p.1 #1 · Bower FD-EOS any good?

Has anyone used this FD-EF converter, or heard anything positive/negative about it? I'm looking to get some primes to play with and I'm not the mirror-shaving type. I figure I can whet my curiousity with some FD lenses.

Any other suggestions are very welcome.

Here's the link:

Bower FD-EOS converter

Thanks in advance.

It must be a quality product... it says so on the side of the box!

I have no experience with this product, but judging from the rest of the products at that site, it looks like junk to me. However, for $40 or so, it might be worth a try.

It is cheap, nasty teleconverter, not worth your time. The (rare) Canon EOS-FD teleconverters are only for telelenses as they protrude into the rear of the lens.

Yeah, even the real Canon EOS-FD adapter is only good for the long FD telephotos. When Canon increased the distance from the sensor to the flange in the transition from FD to EOS, it was a good longterm decision, but it really screwed the usefulness of old FD lenses. Playing with old FD lenses is kind of a doomed project.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses - I guess I will put the $40 towards something useful - like a Plamp
