Hi,

Does anyone know about the Sigma 18-50mm f/3.5 DG not the DC. Can anyone advise me on which wide angle lens with medium budget that I should purchased.

I was looking at the EF 17-40mm F/4.0L USM and was told about the Sigma
18-50mm f/3.5- ... DG. I personally never heard of the DG model, and was told that this was a better buy than the canon. Yet, I have to say that I am quite sceptical about the idea.

I have looked around for this lens, but have not actually see any available information on it. If anyone knows anything about it please reply.

The 3.5 version, which you have sells for $150, while the 2.8 version goes for over $400. Check out the reviews on this forum. I just ordered the 2.8 version and should receive it tomorrow.

It's the DC version, not DG. It's Sigma's answer to the kit lens. It's rated in the lens section here. I found it an OK lens.
