p.1 #1 · D70s question

Does anyone use non-Nikon flashes with their D70 - could a person use an Acheiver 115a flash..... I am asking for a friend - I have no clue. But I would assume its ok, but are there not voltage issues?

p.1 #2 · D70s question

I know that older flashes have higher trigger voltages that can damage digital cameras. Last month I sold an old Vivitar on eBay and has several questions regarding this. It was a learning experience for me because I had never heard of this issue before.

My 2¢

The user manual says that if you use anything over 250 V, it will cause damage to the internal circuits.

Thanks for the info guys - I advised him to stay clear of using his old flash, as I thought there could be voltage issues. I would rather be safer than sorry.

p.1 #5 · D70s question

I have used a 1990's-era minolta flash with no manual controls with my D70 and sc17 cable. The camera would also trigger it using the normal metal hotshoe on top of the camera.

As long as it has the little metal pin in the center it should work with a nikon off-camera cord.
