I was told that this subject's skin looks too "real" and I should clean it up.
Whenever I do my attempt, it just seems blotchy (I am using the clone and heal tools).
I figure this would be the place to ask the experts.
Any help would be appreciated.

YCH, did you just create another layer and use the gausian blur technique to soften the image?

I have a lot to upload still, but overall, I think she was happy with the session.
Neatimage to clean the skin up some. Selective area Gaussean Blur/Blends to remove the bigger blemishes. Selective area Gaussean Blur layers set to color to smooth out some of the off color blemishes. Used an inverted grayscale mask set to screen to enhance some of the shadow details. I then used Photo-Plugins Local Contrast Enhancement to sharpen the overall image (gives the photo that fill flash feel too) up on a separate layer and deleted from this layer certain areas so the base layer would be prevalent. Hope you like the result.

Also.. I like how you kept the detail in the skin, as opposed to the following version.. anything special about that, or is it a property of the noise reduciton sw?
I use this technique for cleaning and smoothing skin tones. Takes a bit of pratice but very effective.
1. Select soft edge paint brush.
2. Set flow and opacity of paint brush to 25%
3. Select colour picker and change sample size to 3x3.
Select a skin tone you want and when paining on your skin tone dont release the mouse button just keep painting. It will only paint on 25%, so it dosent matter if you go over where you have already painted.
If you go outside of any places and want to clean it up, just add a mask and paintout the spill.
