p.1 #1 · Quantum vs Poclet Wizard

I have loved my Quantum Radio Slave but I am getting some pocket wizards in a package deal I set up. Now inthe pocket wizard i am getting TWO recievers which would be good since I will NOW have two Qflashes.

Questions is, why is Pocket Wizard so much more popular than any other brand? I don't see anything it offers my Quantum slaves don't also offer.

possibly because of the fact that sekonic, nikon, profoto,dyna-lite, kodak and norman all market products with pocket wizard capabilities.

One of these days I might actually buy some slaves (the 4i you have for sale is tempting Josh). I've got the Sekonic PW module already, but the Quantum Freewires look sweet. 8 channels instead of 4. But, alas, PW seems to be the reigning champ.

For an inexpensive alternative try these:

But a multi-max is also more expensive. At the moment I'm trying the eBay units with pretty good success.

I have and LOVE the Freewires

two nice features of the freewires are that 1: you only need one unit at the camera to trigger the camera and the strobes with another one in your hand. and 2: the frewires will autofocus your camera before shooting and triggering strobes. this is something that the PWs don't have.
