p.1 #5 · Canon USB cables for shooting tethered | |
I shoot tethered with both a 10D and a 300D for product shots.
It works great! I like seeing larger files on my 17" laptop screen, easy to read histograms, etc...
A couple of things to consider:
1. if your monitor calibration is wrong, your images may not turn out as you expect.
Always follow your histogram for proper exposure. Get some sort of monitor calibration.
2. There is a tranfer time between the camera and your computer (seems like 5-10 seconds depending on file size-I only shoot at max res). No big deal when I shoot product, but I would never shoot tethered when shooting people.
I use the standard cord from Canon. Short, but it works fine for my set-up. I have been toying with trying an extension just in case I need it, another item for one of my "test" days.
