I have a mint condition (really like new), 85 1.2L lens that I would like to sell. The date code is US0206 (2004) and I have a B&H receipt dated 3/28/2004. I have the box, case, packing materials and hood. The hood has the usual minor scuff marks. It takes great images. Reason for selling: I am downgrading. I can send images, but the lens looks new. I would like to get $1265 shipped. I accept money order, cashiers check, personal check (shipped after funds clear) or paypal (buyer pays fees). Thanks.
I know I may regret the decision to sell. However, for me the difference in price between this and the 85 1.8 does not warrant me keeping it. I definitely think the 85 1.2 images are gorgeous and dreamy, but the 1.8's images are pretty good also. However, I think the kicker is that with 3 kids it is much easier to follow them around with the 1.8 because of weight and size issues. The focus is also faster, but to be honest I never thought the focus on the 1.2 was that bad. I will use the price difference to get a 24-70/2.8 zoom which will be very convenient with the kids. The 85 is a little long to get more than one person in view.
I think that eventually I will end up having both 85's, but I will have to wait. Unless, of course this lens gets discontinued. (just joking)
