Gunny,
I noticed that you have the 1.4x. Does the 1.4 + the 135 produce good results? I've considered getting it but I'm afraid the 135's quality has spoiled me and I won't be happy with the results. What are your thoughts?

The 135 + 1.4 is a great combo when needed and at 2.8 the AF is still very fast.
I see no loss with this setup.

You noticed the color right away. The lense is incredibly sharp but to me the color and contrast are what really sets it apart from other lenses.

In my pic above (the bride) the color is really what grabs me about it. The dress is really white. The skin tone as well is very good.

Good luck finding one for 200 or less.

You won't regret a nickle you send on this beauty!

I have a somewhat photography-101 question for those of who who took all these beautiful pictures.

Did you take these pictures in full manual modes or with programs like aperture priority. Please enlighten me.

By the way...even if it may overlap with my 70-200 zoom, i'm definitely going to buy this very fast....I don't care if people call me a collector or not.

It just depends. I often use aperture priority - but for my indoor sports shooting I will often use manual. I think the key for a lot of us is shooting RAW, or at least doing post-processing later to get the most out of the images. I know that my images wouldn't look as good without my RAW-based workflow, but I can't speak for everyone else.

The shots that I posted were taken in P mode on a 20D. I may have used the dial to tweak the Av I don't remember. I'm still faily new to the DSLR world and having P mode allow me to customize a lot of settings but still have the camera suggest proper exposure is helpful to me. I try to make mental notes of what the camera suggests.

Don't worry about being called a collector. Image quality is the main reason I purchase lenses as I'm not a pro and rarley have a sutiation where I must have a zoom in order to get every shot (or as many as possible). IMO the really good primes (135 f/2, 85 f/1.2 etc) have an image quality that to me is better than anything I've seen.
