Uncounted billions of nails have been hammered since they were invented in pre-Biblical times. It's remarkable that human fingers have still not evolved to endure their use.

Great ensemble, Ken. I hope no fingers were harmed in the taking of this picture. :-).--Frank

nice idea.

Good use of dof here too Ken, too narrow would have taken away from the image. Nice and sharp detail too.

Oh, and I hope that is tomato sauce

I tried tabasco, catsup, and anything else I could find in the kitchen that was red. Everything looked fake. In the end, it was ye old pin-stick that worked the best.

Oh man, pain for your art, Ken, I like it! Nice piecing of this puzzle together in a tight compo. The blood really tells the end of the story.

Gee, I hadn't thought of "pain for your art"! I just hope we don't have a WA with a theme of "Earshot"...I might be tempted to join the Vincent Van Gogh society.

As a side note, I actually shot an alternate image (below) for this assignment. At the last minute, I opted for the nail, thinking that this other shot might be a bit cheeky. But it was fun, too.

That's a fine one as well, Ken, nice work. Some suggestions would be some more blur of the back trap and try also to bring out the transp image a little more.
