i checked the adjustment on the FLE on my rokkor (plain MD) 24/2.8 yesterday and determined that it was pretty far out of spec and recalibrated it. field curvature is gone and performance across the frame is very good from wide open except for the extreme corners. still better inside of 3m than at infinity though.
a few shots around work, 1 at f/11 the rest wide open:
Compact landscape kit. 16-21mm Leica WATE and 24-240mm Sony FE. This is about as small as you can go with a full frame lens kit with this kind of range. Photo taken with A7s and Contax G45.
The Zeiss 55/1.8 is as close to perfection I can think of. That it can produce images like these (wide open, straight out of camera) is really all I can ask for. Eager to start school by scepticswe, on Flickr
It's been a while. This thread moves so fast. A lot of nice photos.
I ordered the new FE 35/1.4 today, should have it in a few days. I feel like a guinea pig, but I'm too curious about it. Is anyone else interested in this lens?
We made it back to Reykjavik after circling Iceland. The internet connection, well, the wifi connection at the hotel here is pretty good and allowed me to browse the images of several pages that I missed while traveling. I must say that the images posted on this thread are really impressive. I really enjoyed them!
This is my second trip to Iceland; I was here in October 2013. I enjoyed that trip before but I felt that another visit to Iceland in the winter would be warranted. The weather was less predictable and it was cold but the different shooting conditions were rewarding. Somehow, I was expecting that it would be colder than this that most waterfalls would be frozen but that was not the case. However, the visit to ice caves, something that we couldn't do other than during the winter was absolutely amazing. BTW, California can use the bountiful water from Iceland but Iceland can use the sun from Caliornia .
I had the chance to go through the images I took on this trip and picked a few. These images were taken on two different days at Strokkur, the main geyser at Geysir near Gullfoss. Although I have a complete sequence of the eruption but for this purpose I posted only two. The weather graced me with sunset the following morning. So, I guess I couldn't complain too much . The lens used for the second day is my now favorite Canon 11-24mmL f/4 lens I received just in time for the trip.
A few more with the Voigtlander 15/4.5 III from last night. Just some different angles with the lens. BTW - there was a slight breeze when I took that last shot . . . the tree was moving so it's not smearing in the corner.
Holy crap!!
Bob...fantastic images with the new CV 15. I like the sunstars! Looks like a really nice lens!
Michiel...I really like that image above. Incredibly crisp! Wow!
And Joshua...welcome back. And the images from last page are totally incredible. As Bob said, wall hangers! How was focusing with the new Canon 11-24?
Received my A7rM yesterday, back from Kolari. Haven't shot with it, but I will soon. But, after looking at some of the images on these lat few pages, I'm feeling my photography is woefully lacking!! I need a change of venue...se la vie!!
Here are a couple ransoms...
