Why not switch to Monitor Only for waist level shooting.
Looks like I'll have to do that, which is an unfortunate and unwanted workaround. Typically I'm constantly between EVF and LCD and never really using one exclusively, so going into "LCD only" mode is clunky, at best, but unfortunately probably my only option.
Olympus nailed this on their E-M1 - they just disable the eye sensor when the LCD is articulated. How hard is that?
Still, so far I'm forgiving the A7 because I love the IQ coming from the camera - as I use it more, surely I'll grow around its quirks -- I hope!

the menu keeps its last location, a pseudo hot-key.
Doesn't work for me; I use 4 functions from menu (new folder, viewfinder/monitor, live view display, format) and menu almost never is in correct setting when I open it. It would be nice to have 6 options as "favorite"/"bookmark"-screen like in Canon 5DmkII, with which I needed to go to menu only to adjust time, everything else was in this favorites menu.
Thank's guys .. know that perhaps the best and safest lens had been 55 1.8 sonnar or Zeiss 50mm Planar ZM but wanted to try sonnar 50 1.5 for the particular style and character this lens has

Dont know that lens, but going to be fun looking what you do with it. And you can always fall back to your fine ZF line - much like I've done to the Contax line

Pardon the limited theme but here's more automotive. A7 + Distagon 35/1.4
