This is a zoo shot. I am nowhere near these guys! Once again my goto lens, the Sony FE 24-240 mm on the A7RII. This is a severe crop of an image shot at 240 mm. (probably the weakest focal length IQ on this lens) This shot must be something like a 600 mm equivalent focal length. It was shot at ISO 100, 1/200th second at F/9 hand held. Amazing what you can do with this camera.
The hardest part for this shot was waiting for the "sweat" on the glass to look right. Then getting enough DOF to capture it. Then waiting to be able to drink it.
Today, I met up with an old Milwaukee photographer friend who now lives in New Orleans. He took me to the Lower Ninth Ward. This is the area that took a direct hit from the Mississippi river when the levee broke during Hurricane Katrina . . . ten years ago. Much has been made about the progress the city has made to recover . . . and they have. However, there are still reminders, especially in this area, that there is still much work to do. While there are certainly prettier ares of the city and even grittier places, this is probably the most meaningful place I will visit during my time here. It's such a contrast to what people know and hear about the city.
Jack, loving your series!!! The 50 Cron IV is one of the lenses that gels with the A7rII. The tonal range for B&W conversions with the 50 Cron IV is what I really like, and yet it remains sharp but not harsh.
Joshua, superb portrait!!
Rene, great shots with the ZA 135/1.8
Ronnie, amazing shots!

I've been really enjoying your 24-240 images and frankly you may have sold me on the lens, as I need a good all-in-one lens anyway for travel. Your results are very awesome and knowing this is a good crop on that image is even more impressive! I have to wonder how well it would play with a lower-resolution A7ii.
