DUDE you don't need to switch to canon.
you're an amazing photographer. whether you use canon or nikon, the images will always rock.
grass is always greener. except you have better dynamic range with nikon, plain and simple. no comparison.
enjoy the 105 that is coming out in 3+ weeks!
Cool it man, I only borrowed this 5DIII and 50L from a very good friend and owner of Jenart Films
Just testing the two... wanted to see what i was missing. I will NOT be switching.

Oh and thanks
well, I only freaked out b/c you've been talking about it a lot lately.
I came from a 5Diii, it hasn't even been a year yet for me, in nikon land, and I've had around 10 lenses already, yikes!
glad to hear, cheers

I've had many copies of this lens (it keeps calling me back) and each of them have been around there for me as well on multiple bodies.

I hope within the next year I can pick one up used, really want this lens but can't afford retail price. I know it's worth it, I'm just broke.
What do you think credit cards are for?

NP, mate.
Anywho, I haven't been posting much images. Here's my contribution of verticals.

After shooting with 58G and 50L side by side... I would never think a 50L would be so sharp.
The bookeh sucks though. Yuk.
The 50L pic looks very flat, just no punch to it. Also that bokeh is disgusting. This is a prime example of why people spend money on the 58G. Anytime someone questions this logic, I'll direct them to this comparison.

Wow, the 58 looks so much better.

I did say that the 50L was sharper at 1.2 than 58G 1.4 but not by much. This is the only advantage of the 50L
As far as CA, bokeh, and AF consistency, the 50L blows. But then again, if one is looking for sharpness, get a 50A.
To me (and most of us here) sharpness doesn't matter; it's sharp enough for pretty much anything.
The reason why it's safe for me to say this is because I've printed 24x36" images shot with 58G wide open!! and I was very satisfied.
The average 99.9% client will never say that it's soft...
