Nice shots JC If the shots at 1.4 & 1/250, 1/500 sec were at ISO 3200, then how high was your ISO for action shots with the 2.8 lenses?!
Thanks!
Based on the stadium lights....I normally can squeeze between 1/800 - 1/1000 on the shutter with the ISO around 10,000 to 12,800. The D3s handles that ISO nicely...especially with a little NR in LR. Like most sport shooters....rather have noise than motion-blur.
Football is coming to an end as well as volleyball...so might have to try this puppy on the basketball baseline

Very cool! Love the bee keeper costume
Thanks Joseph! Yah the entire neighborhood went bonkers for them. The details of my daughter having a beehive and the bee keeper costume tied the whole concept altogether. Semi-homemade

football, well now i've seen it all lol. good shots
Thanks! Yeah...focusing on my center of gravity until I start branching out to other photo opportunities. Figured it's better to use than sit at the house until I get around to those opportunities.

you can always buy a refurb one from nikon. they'll probably have another 10% off refurb deal around black friday.
Thanks for the info. I saw Roberts and Cameta having the same deal on eday...I can save on tax buying from them... I am just waiting for the 4-5X ebay bucks day!!
^ i like the compression from the 85G and I like the smoother transition from in focus to oof of the 58G. two different looks from two different tools. pick the best tool for the job...both great images elijah.
i have a ton of stuff with the 85 but i do manage to still take some shots with the 58. I am trying not to force myself to use it. I want my lens choice to be natural and not contrived.
