p.1 #1 · Sold: Inks and Parting Out-Canon IPF 6100 24" printer

     IPF 6100 ProGraf printer

Sold

Price: $1.00
Payment method: PayPal
Item condition: 9+ Shows little or no signs of wear

The "main boards" went out on my printer and I'm not going to spend about $1600 to fix it. So I'm selling all the usable parts off of it. This is kind of a weird listing because I don't know what to value some of the items. So just make me an offer on something and I'll decide if it's worth the time to ship it. The inks are the only thing I have an idea of a fair value. I'll add them as a second item here. The machine never had a lot of use, so most of the parts should be in pretty decent shape. It currently does not operate so I can't check on stats, etc.
Of course if someone wants to make an offer on the whole thing that's fine too. I live in Little Rock Ar., if you're in driving distance, and I'd be willing to drive part way to you if feasible. Here's what I think would be salvageable:
Print heads-if I can get them out.
Maintainence cart-Had 60% left IIRC
roll paper holder
1 roll of Inkjet Art 24" MC Luster paper-about 70% left
A printed and spiral bound users manual
Any other parts you may think of, just tell me...

Set of ink carts -fits IPF 6100 AND 5100

Sold

Price: $250.00
Payment method: PayPal
Item condition: 9+ Shows little or no signs of wear

6 of the carts are about full and the rest are in various stages of use. A couple are pretty low judging from feel. The price of 6 new carts would be about $450 so I'm asking $250 for the whole set.(12)

The inks are sold but still have heads (if I can get them out) and the roll paper assembly with 2" and 3" core size. And any other part you can think of if I can get it off. CHEAP!!

Just chiming in here with some possible helpful (or not-so) advice to save you or others aggravation. I have been trying to fix up a 6100 myself that I picked up cheap. However, I found out the hard way that once a print head has been used in any Canon printer even for a second, it can no longer ever be used in another machine. For some reason it gets programmed solely to that machine and if you try to put it in another machine you will get en error saying "remove used print head." Very frustrating! I bought a decent second printer in and attempt to swap the heads and it won't work, even though they were ok in the other printer. I have read some reports of people who didn't run into this issue, but not many. I believe Canon deliberately cripples their heads in order to sell as many as possible. I spoke to an authorized Canon dealer the other day who is so frustrated with Canon they're dropping the line. He said he's had nearly new demo units with very little use where the heads seem to "time out" for replacement after about a year even though they seemed 100% fine. He believes Canon programmed this into the printhead chips intentionally although he can't get Canon to admit this. Anyhow, sorry if this is a rant, but I'm frustrated because after shelling out $$$ for a new printhead is such a gamble - you don't know what might fail next until after you've already invested big money. Now, it seems the circuit board on my 6100 has suddenly failed as well, and it won't even power up at all.
