p.1 #1 · Palouse & Palouse Falls

These were taken from the road trip last weekend. I shoot the sunset at Steptoe Butt but it was too cloudy. Not much interesting light, though near the end the cloud broke for a little while for 5 minutes.

Thanks Mike. The second one was stitched from multiple shots. I mounted the camera vertically and shifted TSE 24 to get the very tall and thin slices, then turn the ball head to get the panorama.

I think I just extended the tripod too high that I included too much sky, but less water.

haha, yeah I kind feel that the perspective is somewhat strange too... A wide-angle without distortion?

Wow, you just blew my mind. I have a TS-E and pano rail, but for some reason never though to use both of them at the same time. Thank you sir!

Also, great shots

Both are great shots, but I especially like the first one where the sunlight is hitting the barn and silos.

It's fun when you do the post processing with this many pieces. PS could get crazily slow

Hope you enjoy more with your TS-E and pano rail

The light in both of your photos is very nice! Talk about highlighting an area in the first one. Beautiful!!

I like your second photo a lot! It seems like the sun likes to come out just at sunset out at Palouse Falls as I have a picture somewhat similar. I like the color and detail that you captured. You already touched on it, but for me, I would have liked to see more of the water below and less sky. Still very nice!!

These are both such beautiful places!!

Thanks Ron. For the second one, because I didn't want to lean the camera forward to avoid distortion, the horizon is always in the middle of the frame - that's the price you have to pay for keeping the camera strictly vertical.

But it's a shame that even with TSE 24 shifted to bottom, I still cannot get full picture of the water pool

The clouds around here have been great for shots like your first for almost a week straight now, you definitely got a gem there!

Unfortunately I have been too busy with work to take advantage...
