Looks fake. Why not 20D like the 10D instead of D20 like the Nikon numbering system ie D70, D100

I thought so myself, I thought it was a modified pic of a 10D?

If that picture is even a little bit accurate, it looks like it has a built in hand grip and no pop-up flash!!!! oooooo I'd REALLY like that

It just seems weird that, if it's true, Canon wrote that it's a "professional camera" on it....if somebody is looking at purchasing that, they could probably figure that out for themselves

- - - though I guess it's really for "semi-pros" because the true professional cameras are the "1 Series." I'm SOOOO EXCITED to see what the final product looks like

Hopefully it won't be more than about $2,500

The canon rep flat out told our shop not to order any more 10D bodies because a new camera will be shippint soon. If that's not a sign of a discontinued body, I don't know what is.

Looks fake to me. A modified D2000 is a likelier explanation.

Personally, I hope Canon starts to innovate a little more in the body design department. Am I the only person who thinks the 1-series EOS is too large? Why not make hand grips optional, so people who [1]don't want them can remove the damn things if needed?

I seriously doubt the 20D will have a 'pro' body spec (pro meaning 'looks like a 1-series.') I am thinking it'll look like the 10D does now, and that would hardly be a bad thing. I think the 10D is a great body, and for the price, it's features and robustness are superb.

I also believe it will look very much like the 10D. In fact, I'll go as far as to say it will use the same body with changes to the control wheel only.

If I may inquire as to what you mean by "our shop"... are you talking about one of our local stores here in town. I was led to believe that my favorite store was getting the 10D all the time...

I can confirm for you that the 20d is a fact. Its hard to say a lot without getting people into trouble with NDA's etc but the rumored specs are true. ..John

Saw the link in a japanese mag. I can read some and it does confirm the data. That led Paul Pope to say someone broke their NDA...

NDA=Non-Disclosure Agreement. It essentially binds everyone who is allowed to see the camera before any official announcements are made to silence. That is, they are not allowed to talk about the camera to anyone until Canon makes the specs public. They are (or at least should be) powerful muzzles on people in the know, but some shooters just can't keep a secret. It might get them in legal trouble at worst, and they probably will lose pre-viewing privileges from Canon for future cameras at the very least.

I figured it out! Maybe the new 20D or whatever it is, is a dumbed-down version of the MKII. Like those that say the Rebel is a dumbed-down version of the 10D.

.....I'm being facetious. :-)
